Fresh off his European racing campaign in Italy, Solly Mervis returned to the MotoAmerica paddock focused, confident, and determined—delivering his strongest MotoAmerica Twins Cup weekend to date aboard the Karns Performance / Ice Barn Racing Suzuki GSX-8R.Mervis showed steady improvement throughout the weekend, lowering his personal-best lap time in every session while continuing to build confidence, speed, and racecraft in one of the most competitive Twins Cup fields to date. After qualifying P9 and securing a third-row start, Mervis delivered back-to-back career-best finishes.

Qualifying – P9

Mervis continued adapting to the 2026 Suzuki GSX-8R, showing improved pace and consistency while earning a strong third-row starting position.

Race 1 – P8

In Race 1, Mervis battled through the field to secure what was then his best MotoAmerica Twins Cup finish.“I continue to feel more comfortable on the Karns Performance / Ice Barn Racing Suzuki, and it’s showing in my results. I know I can continue to learn and grow as a racer as I gain experience. It’s what I want, and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to improve. I’ve never let anything stop me before, and I’m not about to start now.”

Race 2 – P7

Mervis continued building momentum in Race 2, lowering his lap times again and earning another career-best finish with an impressive P7 result.“I had a blast today. Morning practice was a big confidence boost when we posted the fifth-fastest lap time, and I knew then we had the pace to fight. I just had to stay cool, calm, and focused during the delay and heat, then be ready when the green flag dropped. My team gave me a bike that felt perfect, and I just needed to do my job and compete hard. Reaching P7 felt great, but I want more, and I know I can continue to improve.”The weekend marked another important step forward in Mervis’ rookie Twins Cup development, as he continues adapting quickly to the demands of the class while proving capable of running inside the top group.Mervis also extended his appreciation to the sponsors, teams, and family supporting his racing journey:“I want to thank everyone who has made this progress possible—Ice Barn, Smash My Trash, Iconic Motorbikes, Legendary Sportbikes, Putnam Park Road Course, and Club, Dainese for keeping me safe, my family, and my teams: Ice Barn Racing, REVO Racing Project, and Karns Performance. None of this happens without them.”Solly Mervis and the Ice Barn Racing team now turn their attention to the next round of MotoAmerica Twins Cup competition at Road America, one of the most iconic circuits in American road racing.
